2009 Hyundai Elantra Gets USB Port

When you hear the name Hyundai you don’t exactly think of high-end cars with lots of gadgets and technology inside. That’s not keeping Hyundai from giving buyers a bit more in car tech in their low price ride.

The 2009 Elantra will have a USB port for connecting PMP devices and other gear that could support Microsoft’s Blue&Me system. There is no official word on if the Microsoft system will make it into the car, but the USB port is confirmed. At worst you will be able to play your MP3’s over the cars stereo so it’s really a win/win situation. At best you might be able to sync your contacts to onboard systems and do other cool stuff with USB devices. Just being able to charge my cell phone without needing a DC cord would be good news to me.
