The Gmini XS 202 is an upgrade from the Gmini XS 200 released last year, and holds as many as 10,000 tunes. The new blue LCD 2" screen with icon-based graphical interface allows easy navigation and management of your music library, but does not display pictures. Sony just renewed its hard drive-based MP3 player with the new NW-HD5, a credit card-sized 20GB audio player with an aluminum body. Among the special features are its 'follow-turn' feature that synchronizes the display orientation to your hand movement; and G-sensor that provides immediate shock protection for the HDD data even if the player is dropped from just 1m.  For those more concerned about storage, a $439 20GB H10 is also being made using 1.8" hard drives, able to play 16 hours of continuous music. The larger battery and hard drive shouldn’t bog you down either, only a few millimeters larger than the 5GB model. After promising MP3 support, Sony comes out with NW-HD3 Network Walkman, which is the first to natively support MP3 out of the box without the tedious ATRAC3 conversion. The proprietary ATRAC3plus is still crucial for Sony's online music store compatibility. The 20GB MP3 player boosts 30 hours of battery life; and recharges through USB port.
