Flash Drive Bracelet Stores Kids Medical Info

  June 6th, 2006

Parents, if your children have a severe medical condition that requires them to have care giver information on them at all times you should check out this device. A silicone band becomes a bracelet that secures the flash drive to your child's wrist for easy access in the event of an emergency.

The downside to this device is that unlike a standard etched type medical alert bracelet, this one would require a USB equipped computer to be able to get the data. First responders such as EMS or the Fire department will very likely not have access to the information stored on the bracelet. I also have to wonder about the durability of the device. My sons shirts don't make it through the day without getting wet and stained up. I just don't see an electronic device on his wrist being viable with all the hand washing we do these days. That said, if it works the value of the device is undeniable. Check it out at AllergyKids.com.
