Apple iPhone - iMac-To-Go?

  January 10th, 2007

DON'T MISS

Everything USB isn't the kind of site you would find news about iPhone. But after watching Steve demo of the Holy Grail of handsets, it would be a sin not to write something about it. The iPhone features several revolutionary breakthroughs. There's no need to reiterate those here.

In case you haven't dug deep, the iPhone sports 3 sensors: the proximity sensor turns off touch-screen LCD to prevent inadvertent touches during phone call; the ambient sensor adjusts screen brightness; the accelerometer detects device rotation and then changes content orientation from portrait to landscape and vice versa. These may not sound like much, but coupled with a full-blown 3.5" touch-screen, seemingly perfect onscreen keyboard, 8GB flash, Safari, iTunes, iPhoto, iCal, Mail and Widget (did we miss anything else?), iPhone makes me wonder if Apple is trying to sell us an iMac-To-Go despite of the quad-band EDGE phone core. On top of all these are WiFi and Bluetooth for communications. Too bad iPhone is stuck with USB 2.0 as the handset may help to jump start Wireless USB.
