24K Gold iPod for Rich Geeks

  April 24th, 2007

We have talked about some weird stuff here before but few things were as truly pointless as this iPod with a 24K gold back. The gold is claimed to be hardened mirror gold, and if you buy you should hope the gold is hardened since normal gold is so soft and scratches easily. If you have money to burn you can get a white or black 80GB iPod video with the gold back for about $780. You can get an iPod nano with the Midas touch for about $598 or if you are the DIY type you can get just the gold back plate for the iPod video for $398 or the Nano for $298. Seems this is one serious waste of money unless you plan on doing it up Flavor Flav style and wearing your iPod on a necklace for all to see.
