Apple is pushing a new Red iPod that is identical to the other new iPod Nano players with one exception. $10 of the $199 purchase price of the Red Nano will be contributed to the Global AIDS fund to help fight AIDS in Africa. Looks pretty cool, but it reminds me of a candy cane. No new functionality or features with this special edition, just the color and the $10 donation per unit sold. The 4GB iPod can hold up to 1000 songs and 25,000 photos. The LCD display is the same 1.5" color display with a 176 x 132 pixel resolution and the battery life is up to 24 hours.
