ATI TV Wonder 650 Combo USB Heads to Mac

Since apple is unlikely to ship an iMac with built-in TV tuner anytime soon, the external TV tuner market is still up for grabs. Dubbed as TV Wonder 650 Combo USB for Mac, the TV tuner is technically the same as the PC version except for the freakishly white plastic case and the software, now bundled with tvPORTAL Media Center. The PVR software appears to only run on Tiger 10.4.10 or later. The OTA ATSC or Clear QAM recording will take at least a Dual G5 or Intel Core Duo, while NTSC recording will be less resource hogging as the tuner comes built-in with a MPEG-2 encoder.

The TV Wonder 650 Combo USB with dual tuners doesn't seem like some low-end USB TV as you can find plenty of high-end features such as 3D comb filter, noise reduction and edge enhancement found in ATI Theater video chipset.
