British Telecom over in the UK has a new add-on for laptops, tablets and UMPC rigs that allows control of the system by simply moving the computer around. The add-on is called Balance and it plugs into a USB port to power sensors inside similar to those Nintendo used on the Wii. Software converts movements into commands for the host PC that Windows can understand. Once installed you can move the computer to the right to move the mouse cursor in that direction and choose a movement of some sort to act as the mouse click. You could even set the system to reboot or empty the recycle bin by shaking it, like we did with the Etch-a-sketch back in the day. While this may sound like a fun way to control games it is intended to help elderly and disabled users better operate computers and for those who need to be able to control their PC with one hand (and not for the one handed reason you might think).
