Canon is introducing a new compact photo printer called the Selphy ES1. The printer is scheduled for release in October at a price of $249.99. Internally the printer uses Canon's DIGIC II imaging processor adding a wide range of printing and photo correcting/enhancing options. A unique feature of the printer is its vertical design, that differs from other portable photo printers. A unique paper handling system allows Canon to pull this off and allows the smaller footprint thanks to the vertical orientation. The LCD screen is 2.5" allowing you to make edits and corrections without your PC. Thermal dye technology is used to print sharp images at 300 x 600 dpi.
