Century Japan’s USB 3.0 Card Fits Flush in ExpressCard Slot
USB 3.0 certainly can make life easier for transferring large files to and from your laptop; sadly while the SuperSpeed interface is slowing starting to come standard on some laptops, it is hard to justify replacing a relatively new laptop with an expensive new one just to get this one killer new feature. In fact, even a storage junky would be hard-pressed in finding ways to justify that kind of upgrade.

Century Japan understands that while this is transient and short term in nature market niche, it is also an relatively untapped potential with only a few companies making USB 3.0 laptop upgrade solutions. This is why they have released their all new CIF-USB3EC34 USB 3.0 ExpressCard adapter. This ExpressCard not only boasts USB 3.0 capabilities via the all new Fresco Logic’s FL1000 controller chip, it also boasts a flush fitting design. This means you can leave it in place without worrying about it getting hooked on something and damaged while not in use. Unfortunately, you wont get the full USB 3.0 speed from this adapter’s loan port as it is limited to half that speed due to inherent ExpressCard bandwidth limitations. Still half of a whole lot of speed is better than all of nothing and still much better than USB 2.0. With a price of about 3980 yen this may just be the perfect way to upgrade your existing laptop without spending a fortune.
