Corsair Flash Voyager Reaches 8GB

  September 22nd, 2006

Corsair has added a new drive to its line of rugged Flash Voyager line of USB drives. Now you can get the rubber encased Flash Voyager with a capacity of 8GB. Thanks to the rubber housing, the drives are water resistant and temperature tolerant. Security is also an important part of a flash drive, and Corsair offers the ability to create a hidden and password protected partition on the drive for sensitive data. 256bit AES encryption is used to encrypt the password. Internally the flash drive is a dual channel set up with claimed write speeds of up to 16 MB/s and read speeds of up to 33 MB/s. Corsair backs the drive with a 10-year warranty and the MSRP is set at $154.99. Interesting how far we have come price wise with flash drives. Just two years ago this much flash storage would cost you nearly $1800.
