As people who do a lot of traveling on a routine basis, if there is one thing we have learned it is that hotel & motel television coverage leaves a lot to be desired. In fact the only good thing about it is the fact that it is down right reasonable when compared to Pay-Per-View movie rates hotels want to charge you for. All we can say is thank goodness for portable media players which can connect to basically any TV. Those nifty little inventions have saved us an untold fortune in fees.
Sadly, when packing light - as many road warriors do - there just is not enough room to pack in a Seagate GoFlex TV or similar media players. This means that you either have to suffer through spotty "free cable" offered at most places or bite the bullet and pay through the proverbial nose for a movie that has probably been out on video for a couple weeks.
Well it seems that even the most light of packers will be able to find room for the Crystal Acoustics PicoHD 5.1 Media Player which is only 7.5 x 6.5 x 1.5cm in size (and only 60 grams in weight). Heck its small remote is bigger than it. While the Crystal Acoustics PicoHD 5.1 may remind us strongly of 12 in 1 flash card readers, this 1080p capable little bad boy not only packs in HDMI & component video output, but also digital 5.1 capabilities via HDMI or Coax. Pack in a small sized
portable drives or even just a large
flash drive to connect to its USB port and you will be all set not matter how long your time away from home is. While there is no word on pricing or availability at this time, we doubt
PicoHD 5.1 will cost an arm and a leg given the prices of most portable media player devices.
