DisplayLink USB Video Now Works with 64-bit Vista, Tablet PC

  August 5th, 2008

WE RECOMMEND

Displaylink has just posted USB Graphics Driver version 4.5 for its arsenal of USB LCD monitors, video adapters and docking stations. This release - both signed and passed WHQL certification - brings several new features, notably the support for 64-bit Vista and Windows Vista/XP Tablet PC Edition in addition to Windows 2000 and XP Home/Professional.

Under Vista, Displaylink's Virtual Graphics Card software can also enable 3D Aero Glass theme even in a multi-monitor environment. 3D Aero support is necessary for Flip 3D, Live Thumbnails and Visual Cues. There's no mention of any performance tweaks so we would assume there's none, and the maximum resolution you get is still 1600x1200 for displays powered by the DL-160 ASIC engine.
