DmailerSync Joins U3, Adds Email Server

Filed under USB Apps for Flash Drives

France-based Dmailer has overhauled its DmailerSync - equivalent to the SanDisk's CruzerSync - with new U3 compatibility and embedded server capability. Essentially, DmailerSync 4.1 is a bi-directional sync for Outlook 2000/02/03 (no Express) users with a USB flash drive to spare, and the best thing is that the software runs on other PCs without Outlook installed.

In the event the Outlook on the host PC is toasted, its restore feature will come in handy to put back your IE favorites, emails, attachments, calendar, and etc. Data on the drive is encrypted in 128-bit AES.

The recent addition of U3 compatibility simply allow you to run DmailerSync on any U3 smart drives connected to Windows 2000/XP, while the new 'embedded server capability' answers users' demand for sending and receiving emails on the go. Before, DmailerSync is limited to viewing content sync'ed from the host PC.

If you don't want to get a Sandisk-branded drive just for this software, you can grab the latest version for $29.95, but you can always try it out for 30 days.

Updates (05/07/05): DmailerSync version 4.4 is now compatible with all future U3-powered USB Smart Drive, and it got a new "SyncReminder" function so you will never forget to backup and sync with your PC again.
