Drobo Huge $200 Price Cut

  May 4th, 2007

WE RECOMMEND

Remember Drobo - the freaking expensive data redundant solution whose reliability has yet to be tested? It seems media coverage can do a lot of good as the company has just dropped $200 off the USB data rack from $699 to $499. That's about 30% price reduction. It's still prohibitive to a lot of people, but at least this gives hints that enough people are interested, which means lower production cost in the long run. The folks who already jumped on the bandwagon also got back the difference of $200 with a check rebate. This makes everyone happy. As Drobo puts it, if anyone liked their Drobo at $699, it's safe to say they'll love their Drobo at $499.
