Elgato Turbo H.264 Really Flies, Said Reghardware

Apple TV, Apple iPod and Sony PSP all have one thing in common in that they all can playback H.264 content. H.264 is a better compression compared to the other ones supposed by these devices. So, the logical choice is to convert all our video via this video compression codec, but the problem is that it requires "...a heck of a lot of processing power to produce." Enter Elgato Turbo.264 - basically a dedicated H.264 encoder enclosed in a USB dongle form factor. It should be technically the same as ADS' encoder. We bet the chipset is even the same. In Reghardware in-depth review, they praised the Turbo.264 as way faster than a 1.8Ghz Core Duo at handling H.264 conversion. The supplied plug-in has also made the dongle accessible by almost any QuickTime, meaning hardware-accelerated conversion for anything that uses Apple's multimedia software to encode video.
