USB NIC with edtiable MAC

Hey does anyone know of a USB wireless NIC (preferably 802.11g I guess--but doesn't really matter) that will let me edit the MAC address?

I have a machine that blew up and I'm trying to duplicate the MAC address of it's on-board NIC in a wireless USB key.

Why do you have to clone the MAC address at all unless it's a corporate network?

In most cases, resetting the router according to instructions will renew the IP address.

Well--basically if I don't clone the MAC, I'm going to have to re-host a software package I bought that's linked to my MAC. The re-host costs $500. You get one free one every 12 months--but I already re-hosted when I bought this new machine (which promptly died on me). I'm going to attempt to explain to them the situation and see if i can get a free re-host, but I have a feeling they're not going to let me do it.

I can get it to work if I use a USB NIC with the same MAC. I should have done that in the first place to avoid such problems. But hey--I figured my mobo would have lasted more than 3 months!

I can't believe that they penalize you for network changes! Changes are a fact of life in this business.

I would download the documentation for all the the "big boys" USB adapters - D-Link, Linksys, Belkin and Netgear. You need the manuals to discover these little features.

Yeah - the standard ASPI drivers on it cover pretty much all Adaptec cards.
