CEEDO Updated & InstallAnywhere

Ceedo has updated it's software and now includes a trial for the add-on of InstallAnywhere.

InstallAnywhere's claim is that you can install just about any application into Ceedo, and it will be portable.

I am currently testing that claim, I will report back to you guys when I have some results!!!

Hello Gmgfarrand,

I has updated my Ceedo Key for this Trial Add-on of InstallAnywhere. I has installed some Programs, but when I want to use it on another Computer, the installed menus are empty. So, I has a License of Ceedo for :

1) One Computer
2) One USB Key

It's very expansive, not easy to use, very restricting, very slow and I must have an internet connection !!!

With an U3 Key, i can use it anywhere, on any computer and without Internet Connection. All my Programs are accessible anywhere !!!

[COLOR=blue]Conclusion !!![/COLOR]

[COLOR=red]"Ceedo" is not a "U3" Killer. It's a Killer itself !!![/COLOR]

I give up "Ceedo" and I choose "U3" Plateform for using mobile programs USB key !!!

Everybody has another idea !!!

I had the same problem with Ceedo before, when I used it on another PC, all of my Ceedo shortcuts were missing. it happens.

You don't need an internet connection to use Ceedo, just to get the upgrades and what-not.

Ceedo, does to have some speed issues, but I have been using it for a few days now, and it's better now than it was in the beginning, but I am still testing it.

I have tested this update and now my Portable Programs (Not in the Ceedo List) installed with "InstallAnyWhere" in my "Ceedo" Partition appears on my second Computer, but I can't launch it. Can you do this test ? It's a shame, because "Ceedo" is better than "U3". Why ?

1) With "U3" key, I am restrict to the hardware of my Key and I can use only "U3 Key". I have much trouble, when I install Portable Programs that are not in the U3 List. I have some trouble :

- Unmount Problem
- My Windows XP is very unstable and sometimes I have a frozen Screen.

2) With "Ceedo", I'm not restrict to the Hardware. With my licence, I can installed it on a classic USB key (Not "U3" Key) or External Disk USB 2.0 (Perhaps Firewire, not tested). For me, I have installed on an External Disk USB 2.0 2"1/2 of 100 Gb, with 3 Partitions :

1) Partition 1 with Vol = "Ceedo" (Ntfs) of 20 Gb
2) Partition 2 with Vol = "Work" (Ntfs) of 40 Gb
3) Partition 3 with Vol = "Save" (Ntfs) of 40 Gb

I try also with an External Disk USB 2"1/2 of 40 Gb with this :

1) Partition 1 with Vol = "WinXPE" (My Bootable External Disk with "BartPE" or "WinXPE") of 5 Gb (Ntfs)
2) Partition 2 with Vol = "Ceedo" of 15 Gb (Ntfs)
3) Partition 3 with Vol = "Save" of 20 Gb (Ntfs)

After 1 week of test, "Ceedo" work fine !!! All my Portable Programs installed with "InstallAnyWhere" are accessible and work fine on the Computer use for build it. I have no trouble at this day and the "Unmount" work very fine !!! My "Windows Xp" stay very stable !!! No trouble with this, whereas with "U3", i'm worried !!!

So if "Ceedo" have fixed this Problem ==> To launch Applications installed with "InstallAnyWhere" on another Computers. This is perfect !!! And I give up "U3" !!!

Can you post the results of your test ?

What programs did you have problems with?
I installed several programs with no real issue.

Have you tried to contact Ceedo Support team about programs not migrating from one computer to another?

Hello Moragos,

Thanks For Your Reply !!! I'm now "Beta Evaluator" and I can test with no "Stress". In fact, My Second Computer have a Cazy Problem, because with my "Windows XP", I have some "Trouble". It's don't work fine with USB 2.0 Port. Sometime it detect my Drive, sometime no, and when it detect my drive, it don't launch "Ceedo" Programs. I have installed again a Partition with a Clean "Windows Xp" and since it work fine !!! I'm now a Fan of "Ceedo", because all the Portable Programs, I tested work fine (more then 50 Programs) !!! With "U3" key, I have many, many Problems with "Unmount" the key and with "Ceedo" it work fine since 1 month of test !!! Since my last Problems, "Ceedo" work perfectly !!! I love "Ceedo" and I am ready to buy "Ceedo" for 30 dollars and "InstallAnything" for 30 dollars. I think that this is a good investment, especially when I use an External Disk USB 2.0 2"1/2 of 80 Gb. With this, I have no limit to use Portable Programs !!!
