flash mp3 players reading from external usb HDs...

First of all: Hello everybody!
Okay, I was wondering if it is at all possible to interface say a 100GB LaCie mobliedrive's usb socket with the sd card slot of a generic mp3 flash drive. In other words make an external (massive) storage drive (with suitable 5V battery pack) appear as a humble sd card in order to see filenames & play files. (ie: Make your own iPod)

Did I post this on the wrong site/ in the wrong forum?
