GameOptics' New 4-Line USB LCD Display

  December 7th, 2005

GameOptics' New 4-Line USB LCD DisplayIf you're looking for whatever happened to the GameOptics X1620 external USB LCD display that used to be sold on ThinkGeek, stop looking. The new model is here, and is ready to distract you from your games no less than four lines at a time.

The $70 Pertelian External LCD Display (GameOptics X2040) is based on the Hitachi HD44780 backlit LCD, and has the ability to display your emails, stock reports, system vitals, instant messages and weather reports. New to this version of GameOptics is also the ability to check the score in realtime of your favorite sports team and also get updates from sites like ours via RSS.

The ability to capture keystrokes means you can also use the new display for replying to instant messages without leaving the game, as well as search for specific songs in Windows Media Player, iTunes, or Winamp. There's also customizable softkeys on the display for additional control. And like the old model, it's USB with a velcro backing so you can take it just about anywhere.
