Griffin Helo TC: Pure Joy for the Helicopter Pilot in All of Us
Griffin's latest gadget, the Helo TC is their latest App-powered toy, which in this case allows the owner / operator to play helicopter pilot via a simple iOS app. You can literally control this miniature indoor helicopter either by tilting your iPhone / iPod touch / etc and have the helicopter move in turn (via your iDevice's built-in accelerometer) or via your devices touch screen. You can even program up to three custom flights in advance and then sit back and watch it do its thing. Thankfully, replacement rotors are included for when you program it into a wall and its needs some TLC. The only caveat is you will have to attach a small battery-powered (four AAA batteries) to your iDevice first. Luckily, this transmitter comes with the Helo TC. Where it uses its own batteries, you also need not worry about it draining your iDevice prematurely. The Helo TC is meant mainly for indoor flight so it also comes equipped with five bright LEDs to help light its way. The major downside is the Helo TC's built-in battery will only give you about eight minutes of flight time per charge. On the positive side, it recharges via USB so this is not too big a deal. With a price tag of only $50, we expect these to be pretty popular come this Christmas when it is expected to be released.
