"Wonderful Progam and Wondeful Picture Quality"
I bought this product to mainly use it to record from my tapes and put them onto dvd. I can say i was more than impressed with the picture quality which is excellant.
I did notice though that at the bottom of the screen a small fuzzy bar was there, it wasnt that much of a problem as it is very small.
This problem disapeared when putting it on to dvd and plays really well on my LG dvd player.
I would definatly recommend this product for great picture quality and decent programs to burn a quality dvd.
I also noticed that when capturing in DVD mpeg2 quality from video it improved the quality of what i was recording.

10/10

"It's junk - don't buy it"
I purchased the VideOh! based on various product reviews but my experience has been horrific.

Being able to view TV is great but there are artifacts on the recorded video that make it unusable.

In particular there is an 8 pixel artifact at the bottom of the recorded video from my camcorder or VCR. The image shifts about a hundred pixels to the right and is inverted.

It makes trying to convert a recorded video to a DVD a waste of time.

The best part is the 9 days I've spent with Adaptec technical support trying to get an answer as if this is a hardware problem.

It turns out they admit there is an artifact problem but say it's not a defect.

Bottom line is that if you want to just watch video this is a nice (but expensive unit). However if you want to record anything to put on a DVD - RUN AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT AND THE HORRENDOUS ADAPTEC SUPPORT!

"Great Product! Worth the money!"
I had a problem with installing but was I able to find help in the forum of everythingusb.com. I only needed to disable digital signatures in my control panel!
This product works great! It is worth every dollar!

This is top of the line equipment!
I can't say enough about how user friendly the programs are to use!

"Excellent video quality; rely on Adaptec to update MyDVD, WinDVD"
I have a Win XP Pro SR-1 machine with 512RAM and 28Gb free hard drive space and installation was simple once I used the bundled versions of the software, see software notes. The total install time took 20-30min for set-up and installation. The video capture quality using MyDVD was excellent, see video quality below. I was able to compile a DVD and drop it into the DVD player to watch on TV without any problems (both burner and player were Phillips). Tech support was helpful and prompt to answer question. They usually responded within 24-48 hours. Overall, I am very satisfied with the product.

Con’s
(Software) Limited to the bundled version of the software (MyDVD 4.0.4 and WinDVD 3.0) only. Retail version of MyDVD and WinDVD even if they are later that the bundled version would not work. Therefore, if you created projects in a newer version of MyDVD, in my case 4.5, they would not open in the 4.0.4 version. Furthermore, Adaptec currently states that all software update should come from them.

(Video Quality) Slight distortion in the last few scan lines of video capture from the camcorder and VHS. This distortion was not present when I captured video from the cable and a DVD player. The VHS/Camcorder distortion was only noticeable on my 1600x1280 computer screen (raw MPEG, MYDVD Preview, and Finished DVD). I saw no distortion in my finished DVD home movie when I played it back on my 1080i HDTV monitor using my progressive scan DVD player. I believe this is an issue resulting from some sort of over scan area of the VHS/Hi8 process and the resolution of my monitor. Furthermore, my main method for play back is on the TV so I don’t consider this an issue.

(Tech support) The website has very limited FAQ and requires a customer number to contact them directly.
