"Very poor support, Doesn't work"
I have been trying to install this product for a long time, and have numerous calls to their support line. Although they answer promptly they are at a loss for advise to help my problem. I have a Compaq Presario 1700 model with WIN2000. Am trying to install the GPU-202 with the recommended latest driver, but windows doesn't like their driver and tries to install the oem driver. Even erasing the oem file doesn't help. I can only get it to work in USB1.0 mode. And for that it is a very expensive to port hub.
Frustrated!

"Pretty good"
Please note that I opted for the IOGear product because I paid $60 for it ( used ) though hardly. How used can a device like this be.

I would have gone for the OrangeMicro unit that **comes** with an AC adapter, but... I paid $60 Canadian for this product. That's just under $40. I figure if the AC adapter is only $9.95 at Ecost, I still got a good deal. If you have the option I would go with the MicroOrange version which has 4 ports though, and it comes with the AC adapter.

I think if you buy the IOGear 2.0 compact flash reader and use it with this IOGear pcmcia card though, it will work.

I tried my new card with my USB 1.1 compact flash card reader ( Sandisk ) and it works perfectly.

** I did however try the IOGear card with my USB 2.0 hard drive ( an external unit ) and it would see the drive, but refused to copy a small file either from the drive or to the drive from the laptop.

I also point out that several weeks ago I wrote to IOGear support and they informed me that I MUST use the AC adaptor for any application - they probably meant anything like a drive or a usb 2.0 scanner.

I'm happy with this unit, but only because of the small price I paid for it.

As I stated on the forum, this unit is $56 American, and at 60% exchange on the Canadian dollar that equals approx. $89 US funds. Now take into account that does not include the duties and taxes, and the shipping to Canada.... I figure the unit would have cost me $130 Canadian by the time I had paid everything. So at $60 Canadian it's a darn good deal.
