"The best, but way too expensive" I've compared this webcam with the Logitech Quickcam Pro 4000 and Creative Labs Webcam Pro eX. The Watchport/V is far and away the best of the three in terms of picture quality. Low light performance is absolutely astonishing. The image is razor sharp.
However, at a street price of around $140-160, this product is way too expensive. At the current promotional price of $99, it's just barely competitive in the webcam market. Get it while you can--the promotion ends on 8/31/2003. From Richard Eng, September 09, 2003
"not bad, slighty good even" I purchased this camera back when it was being made by 3com. Everything I have read about it raves about it's performance and for the most part I would have to agree butI don't think it is worth 140 -150. 3com offered it for around $79 and it is definately worth it for the price I had paid. The drivers for this camera are very good from ionetworks. 3com was only so-so with it's drivers. I only wish they had different mounting hardware as an accessory. I've yet to use the extra lens.
