Lexar Compacts Flash MP3 Players

  November 2nd, 2004

Lexar has redefined portability with their latest MP3 players. Their new LDP-600 incorporates a built-in FM receiver that can record on-the-fly, as well as a transmitter that automatically selects an open frequency to transmit directly to your car stereo. Lasting 14 hours per charge, the LDP-600 holds up to 512MB, and is expandable via a SD card. As added luxuries, you can choose from seven different backlight colors, and the included earbuds are from Sennheiser.

Also announced was their LDP-400 which can hold 128-256MB of music, lasting for 12 hours on an AAA battery. For compactness, the USB connector slides out from the player itself.

Both players can play MP3, WMA, and Microsoft’s DRM for purchased music.
