"Problems with background noise and playback sequence"
I just purchased one and have two problems with it. First, there is a high pitch noise that begins when you press play. It's very noticeable between tracks and during silent periods of a track (I listen to a lot of classical as well as rock. If all you listen to is rock this won't be much of an issue.) More troublesome is the fact that you cannot specify the order tracks will be played. For some reason it always puts a track or two out of order. Again, if it's not a big issue for you then this product will do nicely. Sound quality is very good with the Koss earplugs. In surfing the web I've found other reviewers with the same problems. Would appreciate it if the previous reviewer here (and anyone else out there)would let me (us ) know if they also have had these problems.

"Not perfect, but great device nonetheless"
I got this a week ago, and I love it. Sure it's no IPod, but the 256MB is more than enough for me.
The music quality is really solid. No skips or any other issues based on functions. Managing everything with one button may seem inconvenient but its really not (although forwarding and reversing can get kinda frustrating since u let the button go too early it'll just go to the next track instead). The equalizer settings are pretty good too, nothing to write home about but they do what you expect them to do. The on-device USB key is also something i love bout this. No carrying around wires! Just plug in the player and download whatever (including data, not just music, so you wont be bummed for school presentation if the network is down and u sent it to your ftp) On the negative side, its a bit big compared to other MP3 players. Its not HUGE or anything, it's a very manageable size (like a tiny cellphone) and this is no reason not to get this.
