"Not what it seems!" First, I'm a big fan of Linksys products, however, they stepped back a notch with their USB 2.0 Ethernet adapter USB200M. After installing it on a laptop running Windows 2000, I discovered that it would keep a connection long enough to obtain a DHCP address but would then drop the connection shortly thereafter stalling out other applications requiring network access. Only after resetting the adapter multiple times and attempting all other link-types was I able to keep a connection for more than a few minutes. My communication with Linksys technical support was very disturbing in that their response to my issue was that I needed to use a 10Base-T cable and limit my downloads to smaller files and less frequent than what I normally do. To me, this isn't a resolution but an excuse for a product thats not functioning correctly. They didn't mention anything about drivers or flash updates to the product so my only alternative is to remove the product and return it.
Too bad Linksys, you could have had a good product here, it looks like your competitors are doing much better with it than you! From Jim, February 01, 2003
