"no linux support from logitech"
I cannot recommend this camera to use with linux.

Support for the required pwcx module for linux is interrupted.

There is no support for linux and this camera from logitech.

You might be lucky to get a working version for your kernel - I did not

"In low light... heh, otherwise good."
Right off, no problems with the software but I highly recommend downloading the UPDATED 'complete' software package from Logitech (www.logitech.com) first if you are just getting started. Every thing worked smoothly on a win2000 system and a winMe system. The software is very easy to use and all aspects of that package worked well. Even the auto tracking. Now the cam itself. Hmmm... I will say I am a news cameraman and I am rather picky in quality. In low light it fails my judgement testing. Thin vertical bars spaced sporadically throughout the entire viewing frame simply turned me off. The softwares 'auto' exposure modes only made these worse. And believe me, I tried every combination to make this look good... to no avail it seems. However, give this stylish cam a bit of light and it is pretty nice. No evidence of those vertical line problems and once again, the software works well enough for me to keep it ;-). And the sharp resolution is hard to beat. Granted, most of you would not use a web cam in very low lighting conditions to chat with, or record a vid or take a snap or two... so no worries there. Still a nice cam and its architecturally modern design is a keeper. So get it! lol While I am here, I also use Logitechs cordless MX Duo keyboard and cordless rechargeable mouse. Excellent for those bundled components. No, 'they' didn't pay me to say that! ::snicker:: Take care all. - Joseph III

"Nice"
It's great. It follows you as you move around the room. Very clear picture in low light conditions.

The software works, you have to install the software first before plug in the camera, otherwise, it will not work.

One thing I found out if you turn the camera by hand (which you should not do) too far to one side, the computer will not detect the camera.
Turning the camera back to center manually fixed the problem.

"Excellent + linux support"
It works great. i haven't tried it under windows but under linux it works good, including pan tilt and zoom by using the software at http://www.vanheusden.com/setpwc/

For an expensive camera I give this one a thumbs up just because of the neat-o factor and that it's compatable with linux.
