User Review(s)
"USB resolution"
Have used several of the drives without error. The likely cause of the latency and slow performance is you are either using USB 1.x, not 2.0, or you do not have the correct drivers loaded for the USB 2.0 interface. That is one cause for the exact error mentioned. For WXP, you MUST have SP1 loaded and the manufacturers drivers may still be required. Some of the Evo's mentioned do not have USB 2.0 ports either.

"Maxtor sucks"
I also got the drive from Costco for $200. Hooked up to my Compaq Evo N610c via USB 2.0. Tried copying files using Windows explorer. Got several error messages re. file not completely copied due to hardware or network error. I'm also returning drive to Costco.

"I think it's GREAT"
Hooked it up, worked perfectly hooked to my VAIO desktop and to my Fujitsu laptop. I'm trasferring all files, including video at a rate of a gig per minute, nearly 20 Megs per second. I wish it were faster, but still, it's more than 10 times faster than USB 1.1. I can use the drive to play video and audio files just as if it were internal to both computers. Have not tried it with drivers on a W-98 machine yet. Looking forward to faster USB 2.0 speeds, it's clear this baby will keep up.

"Lots of errors"
Got drive from Costco for $200. Hooked up to my Dell Dimension running W2000 via USB 2.0. Did not install the One Touch software. Copied over some files using Windows explorer. Took over an hour for less than 4 GB total copied. Got several error messages re. file not completely copied due to hardware or network error. I'm returning drive to Costco.
