Hiper's PC PSU Supplies USB Ports

PC hardware manufacturers are always trying to add features to woo PC gamers and enthusiasts to their products over a competitor’s product. Hiper has a first with a PC power supply that features four USB ports and a portable device charger on the rear of the power supply called the Type R II. According to The Inquirer, the USB ports connect from the PSU to your mainboard for connectivity.

It would have been cooler if the USB ports just charged USB devices and didn’t bother with the actual USB connectivity. I say this because many new motherboards these days have PCI brackets that connect to internal USB headers or front panel USB ports from the PC case that connect internally too. Mainboards just don’t have enough USB headers typically for all these external ports wanting to connect. The PSU is a 770W unit with 980W of peak power and should be able to run higher end rigs with a single NVIDIA 8800 GTX onboard.
