You'll never hear Icron gives up on USB extension. The Vancouver-based company now announces their latest USB 2.0 extender. This time, it's wireless. The ExtremeUSB WiRanger is a four-port USB hub with a huge dongle that enable wireless extension of USB up to 30m via 802.11g. The system will allow user-selectable radio channel to improve co-existence with deployed 802.11 networks. Unlike other so-called USB dock and even Belkin Cable-Free USB hub, the WiRanger acts as a normal hub, and is compatible all kinds of devices, ranging from printers, scanners, webcams, hard drives, speakers to MP3 players. Though you obviously have to work within the speed constraint of the WiFi network. Icron's WiRanger reportedly works out of the box so it's a plug and play solution for Windows and Mac.
