iLoad-v is sorta like a TiVo or any DVRs, only without a built-in hard drive. The main appeal of this device is the ability to transfer recorded content from S-video, composite or coaxial source into iPod-compatible MPEG-4 SP format. The unit has two USB ports, presumably one already reserved for iPod video and another for a large capacity USB hard drive.
The iLoad-v recording process begins with program scheduling. Its own interface appears on your TV, and you can select countless number of TV shows, which is only limited by the advance info available on the guide and the capacity on your iPod or USB HDD.
As good as USB DVR may sound, there's no way to know how the iLoad-v manages to import and list the programmes under the 'TV Shows'. The capture format is also sketchy as of this writing. Pre-order is available for $149.99 with a generous 3-year warranty. About Everything USB
