imagine LAN has ported its useful PI Protector suite from portable flash drives, to uh, other portable flash drives with the U3 API. While no differences between the two versions have been disclosed, PI Protector allows you to take your entire Outlook or Outlook Express email libraries, favorites, and files to any computer you happen to be working on, then synchronize any changes back to your own PC.
You can also surf the web privately with a tweaked Internet Explorer 6 that doesn't leave any cookies or history on the host PC. The current version for your existing flash drive is priced at $30.
To refresh your memory, U3 is a standardized platform built around flash drives with on-board processors to allow applications to be run directly from the flash drive. Any installed applications can be quickly accessed by a launchpad, which also provides access to a web portal where additional U3 software can be downloaded.Filed under USB Apps for Flash Drives
