USB Thumbdrive with Built-in LED Flashlight

  April 19th, 2005

ION Technologies has come up with a nifty idea of putting a flashlight in a USB flash drive. Since most people will probably be carrying a flash drive on a keychain, it makes sense to put both in a single device in case you need to find car door keyhole or locate a USB port in the dark.

Called the Flashlite, the Hi-speed USB flash drive combines a LED flashlight, a USB flash drive and 3 alkaline button batteries that can last three hours of continuous use. The Flashlite - measures at 3.8" x 1.1" x 0.8" - has the same retractable USB connector as the Sandisk Cruzer Titanium, and will come in various colors and capabilities ranging from 128MB ($34.99) to 512MB ($84.99).
