iriver undoubtedly is facing an uphill battle against the iPods everywhere, but Korea where the company along with Samsung and Cowon has been successful in fending off the endless attacks from Apple. The PMP specialist again vows to defend its territory with the new P7. Crafted in aluminum, iriver's P7 appears to be just another big touch-screen PMP; early photos however indicate the P7's UI is designed much like that of a magazine layout, making it quite unique. So, there could be something under its sleeves as well. With a relatively large 4.3" LCD at 480 x 272 (16:9) resolution, the P7 presumably does a good job doubling as a digital business card holder, and a picture frame as well as a touch controlled calendar. The PMP doesn't skimp on file compatibility, supporting the usual audio/video formats in addition to OGG, FLAC, and the increasingly important H.264 as well as RMVB - a Real Media format popular among Chinese bit-torrenters. There's no word on either pricing or availability, but the P7 sure looks like a flagship product, hence, carrying a hefty price tag. About Everything USB
