Kingston Sends 5k Self-Destruct Flash Drives to US Troops

  June 2nd, 2006

Kingston in association with Operation Gratitude is sending 5,000 Data Traveler Elite Privacy Edition USB drives to troops abroad. These USB flash drives are encrypted to help soldiers keep their personal data private while on duty and to help prevent sensitive data from falling into the wrong hands.

With the news reports of late about unsecured data showing up on stolen US military flash drives in Bagram, Afghanistan Kingston is stepping up to help prevent this from happening. The Data Traveler Elite Privacy Edition is the first USB flash drive that can encrypt data with 128-bit hardware based AES encryption and that can also self-destruct if necessary. No matter if the drive is lost or stolen the data is always safe from unauthorized users.
