Kodak PlayFull Dual Camera Rocks Slowmo 240fps Video + 12MP Stills
Kodak has managed to smash some very enabling features into their latest pocket camera camcorder hybrid. The Kodak PlayFull Dual gets its name from the 1080p video and 12 MP still images it is able to take. It can shoot up to H.264 1080p video at 60 fps. 12MP stills can actually be taken while HD video is being recorded. There's also a panorama mode as well as built-in Xenon flash. Storage is a mere 14MB of internal memory with SDHC slot that handles up to 32GB. Kodak has kept their easy-share functions which allow for quick routing to Facebook, YouTube or email. The PlayFull outputs video via mini HDMI or as data via USB, but the latter connection however won't recharge the battery that is rated for 80-minute of video recording.

In addition to featuring a 3” non-touchscreen LCD on the back, there's a 3rd feature to add to the Playfull Dual - high speed video. Kodak doesn't seem to make mention of the incredible 240fps capture that it is capable of. This will provide for great sports slow-motion video and high speed Edgerton effects. Basically speaking, this allows video recorded at such high frame rate to be played back at normal 30fps, a maximum rate perceivable by the human eye. However, this speed of video is only possible at 720p video. With all those options, it is still a good deal at the $199 MSRP for moms or other non-professional sports photographers.
