Leadtek's USB Tuners Go Digital

  December 29th, 2005

Leadtek's USB Tuners Go DigitalLeadtek is finally making the leap to Digital Terrestrial Broadcast tuners, and as one might expect they're releasing an external tuner for us roaming laptop users and USB junkies. The WinFast DTV Dongle carries on many of the same features as it's analog cousins, including picture-in-picture, time-shifting, and EPG scheduled recording.

The remote controlled tuner uses a MPEG-2 encoder, so while there will most likely be a delay in viewing the picture, it should help offload some of the stress from the CPU to help save battery life, and will also result in a cleaner picture. Finally, the DTV Dongle is Windows MCE capable so you don't have to rely on Leadtek's own software.
