JumpDrive Lightning Hits 4GB & 30MB/s, Bundles Ceedo

  December 19th, 2006

Lexar has been awfully quiet lately in the flash drive arena after the launch of the capacity meter-equipped Mercury. Now, it seems like they are updating their flagship-series Lightning with a new 4GB model ($199.99). Sure, the 4GB ain't any newsworthy nowadays with 32GB & 64GB in the horizon. Lexar tries to make up by throwing in a polishing cloth, lifetime warranty, ultra-fast 30/21MB/s read/write speeds as well as some nifty software including Ceedo (U3-like app platform), on-the-fly AES encryption and file shredder. If you are willing to pay the MSRP, Lexar will personalize your JumpDrive with 'free' laser-engraving text. Though, there is a 2 unit per engraving.
