LG's Widescreen Portable Media Center

  January 5th, 2006

LG's Widescreen Portable Media CenterIf you thought the gigabeat S was cool, check the PM70 out from LG. It's another Portable Media Center powered by Windows Mobile, but with a PSP-style 4.3" screen for watching movies in all their wide-screen glory.

It too can play synchronize with Windows Media Center and TiVo Series 2 for downloading DRM-protected content and TV shows to the 30GB, but the codec-compatibility list is far more appealing with the inclusion of OGG, DivX and XviD as well as the standard WMV, WMA, WAV, and MP3. There are also AV in/out cables for watching and recording the action on the big screen. The only downside is the battery life at 4 hours for video, which still is better than the iPod.
