Never Forget to Unplug your ThumbDrive Again

  April 27th, 2007

WE RECOMMEND

That's #5 on the Top 10 USB Thumb Drive Tricks at LifeHacker. People often log off, take off and leave their flash drives, which may contain unencrypted sensitive data, plugged to their PCs. This little helpful trick implemented in a one-line VB script reminds you to unplug the drive with a simple pop-up message at log out. You simply need to download this script and save it under C:\WINDOWS\System32\GroupPolicy\User\Scripts\Logoff on XP. Then enter "gpedit.msc" in Run menu. Lastly, add the script in Windows Settings under User Configuration. Great tip indeed.
