Logitech Wireless Touchpad, First Multi-touch Device from Mouse Expert
Smartphones and tablets open the era of touch interface. Now, almost everything associated with user interactivity has something to do with touch including the recent MS multi-touch mouse and Windows 8's overhauled GUI. As we recall, Logitech - famous for its sophisticated and robust mice - still hasn't released its own multi-touch input device. That is, until today. Logitech's latest Wireless Touchpad is reminiscent of Apple Magic Trackpad in that the two are simply an one big 5-inch touch-sensitive panel. You can use a wide range of gestures to scroll, swipe and pinch-zoom your content. And in addition to using one finger to move the cursor, you can move two fingers to scroll, three fingers to swipe through photos, pages and Gmails, and four fingers to switch between apps. There are two physical buttons for left and right click in case you are not ready for touch tapping. Lastly, unlike the Apple Magic that relies on Bluetooth, the Logitech touchpad can connect via 2.4Ghz Unifying so you can share the same receiver with compliant keyboard, trackball and mouse. Powered by 2 AA batteries, you can expect the Logitech Wireless Trackpad to hit retail anyway now for $49.99.
