Logitech Z-10 Interactive Speakers Get Unofficial Mac Support

Some of you may recall Marc Liyanage who created a comprehensive web development module, comprising of PHP, mySQL, XML parser and other essential tools. The software engineer from Switzerland recently bought a pair of Logitech Z-10 Speakers, the first of its kind with a LCD displaying RSS & ID3 tags that feeds from a USB cable. Being a hardcore Mac user, Marc couldn't stand Logitech only supplies Z-10 with Windows drivers. So, he took the matter into this own hands. By reverse-engineering the USB communications between the Windows software and the speakers, and reading into open source code for G15 keyboard, he was able to emulate a mini-HTML page on the Z-10's screen. Buttons are activated through AppleScript and JavaScript. We don't pretend we make sense, but Marc's LogitechLCDTool has granted many Z-10 owners' wish for Mac (10.4) iTunes support.
