MacLockPick Extracts Secrets from your Mac, Legally

  April 27th, 2007

WE RECOMMEND

SubRosaSoft.com has a new tool that is intended for investigators called MacLockPick that allows access to password protected Mac systems. The application is based on a flash drive with software installed that extracts data from the Apple Keychain and system settings. Once executed a database of files from the suspect PC is created that can be accessed by log viewers on a Mac or other PC system. MacLockPick is able to obtain passwords for encrypted disk images, Wi-Fi base stations, iTunes Store, iChat, Apple Remote Desktop, login details for websites and email accounts as well as peer-to-peer network information. This could be RIAA’s new best friend. If it makes you Mac heads feel any better, the application is only available to law enforcement officials and costs $399.95. Buyers will be required to show proof that they are a law enforcement professional. The application works with Mac OS X 10.3 and higher.
