Mandriva Linux on a Stick, Not Carnival Food

  April 12th, 2007

If you are a card carrying geek that is really into Linux you will love the fact that Mandriva has put their flavor of Linux onto a 4GB bootable flash drive. To be specific the Linux distribution on the flash drive is Mandriva Linux 2007 KDE 32-bit. There is no need to install Linux with this thing since it can boot right off the flash drive. Common drivers for video cards, WiFi adapters, and more are loaded as well. Other applications include Firefox 1.5.0.10, OpenOffice 2.0.4, Real player and The Gimp. A bootable flash drive makes a very good covert office environment for traveling since you can plug it into any Windows machine, do your business and when you remove the flash drive its like you were never there. Pricing is $175 and the drive is available now.
