Looks like Microsoft took a page from Apple by renewing the public interest in Zune with all these different themes and colors. Apple got the 'AIDS red' nano and U2 iPod video. Microsoft on the other hand has a Halo 3-inspired Zune, a limited Pink edition and now one in watermelon red, which is actually part of a cross-promotion with a new hip-hop newcomer MIMS. So, profit from the sales of the watermelon red won't go to fighting AIDS, maybe for the next model. So, for the player itself, you won't be seeing any new hardware changes. Zune as of now still holds 30GB, sports a 3" QVGA display, WiFi for tune sharing and FM tuner with RDS. Battery life for music and video is 14 hours and 4 respectively. There's, however, a new theme for the interface that matches the new color. Watermelon Red Zune is launching on June 10th, a week before Father's Day. About Everything USB
