Mister Tipster - USB "RSS Keyword Scanner"

  October 9th, 2006

Here's another way to get the latest from your RSS feeds. The $135 Mister Tipster when connected to a USB port can display RSS news titles on its LCD screen, backlit by 3 different colors depending on the model. When you spot something interesting, you can supposedly click on a selected mouse button to open up the related news. I don't know how the software can co-exist peacefully with, say, Logitech SetPoint or Microsoft IntelliPoint. There are 3 LEDs that can alert you with flashing lights when certain words or phrases are detected in the headlines. Hopefully, they'll have a plug-in that collects all these headlines for future references. Interestingly, the same USB device is also a marketing gift that allows companies to broadcast their RSS feeds directly to their clients.
