Freecom Shrinks Mobile Hard Drive

  May 3rd, 2004

Freecom claims their new mobile storage is a bargain in terms of price per gigabyte compared to USB flash drives. Its latest FHD-XS 20GB, powered by a 1.8” Hitachi hard drive, offers twentyfold more capacity than solid state drives in a package that is only twice the size of two average-sized thumb drives. The $237 external drive is integrated with a retractable USB cable, and is housed in a scatchproof aluminium casing with a sync button that works with bundled backup software.
