Creative has posted information regarding its new Zen Touch for launch later this month. Apparently dropping ‘NOMAD’ from its name, the new MP3 player will get a complete overhaul, which includes a new touch pad navigation, snow white-colored casing and menu buttons being relocated to the front of the unit. All these are reminiscent of the third generation Apple iPod and the new iPod Mini.
The 20GB Zen Touch also boasts a 24-hour battery life on a single charge and 97dB signal-to-noise ratio. Comparatively, the Zen Touch (4.12” x 2.7” x 0.87”) measures only marginally smaller than its predecessor – the NOMAD Zen Xtra (4.4” x 3.0” x 0.86”). The company also provides a more generous one year limited warranty than before.
As for pricing, Creative confirms the Zen Touch will retail for $269.99, $130 less than Apple iPod 20GB.
