FireWire to USB Cable, for DV only

  June 16th, 2004

A new USB video cable from Pixela allows you to transfer raw DV from a FireWire camcorder to a typical Hi-Speed USB host desktop or notebook, and vice versa.

This bridge cable, designated PIX-UVCD/U1W, is handy for those who do not have a FireWire port on their PCs. Transferring video back to the camcorder will require Service Pack 2, which supports driverless installation of devices that comply with USB Video Device Class 1.0.

Pixela recommends a 64MB or higher video card and 15GB hard drive space for video editing with ImageMixer 2.0. The PIX-UVCD/U1W will ship in early July for 9500 Yen or around $86 USD.
